Errol Fabien To Appear at St. Joseph Day Celebrations
Just Announced: Local Comedian, Errol Fabien has agreed to serve as the emcee for the entertainment segment during the St. Joseph Day Celebrations which is slated for Sunday March 16th. Additional information will be released in the weeks ahead!

Parish Notices for the 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time
- We are very grateful for all those who participated in our parish pilgrimage to Siparia. We had a good time together. We are very grateful for those who prepared this our excursion. We hope that we will develop this for of the parish ministry.
- First Communion programme will begin at 9 am on the 8th of March - 1st Saturday of Lent. Registration is from 9am to 10 am on Saturday 22nd February.
- The Feast of St. Joseph will be celebrated on Sunday 16th March 2014. If you would like to assist or have ideas what should be done please check with Deacon Jeffrey. Like last year, also this time, we have prepared special adult male and female polo shirts for this occasion. Please contact Margy Valere for more information.
- If you need legal help or mediation, please contact Parish Office to make an appointment. We have inaugurated this new form of the service in our community, so we would like to invite you to accept the help if needed.
- A reminder to persons or families who hold leases for burial plots in our churchyard cemetery behind the church, to come to the parish office to renew the said leases. Also all those who hold a lease for any plot in the King Street cemetery and have not yet come to renew the said lease are kindly asked to do so before Easter, even if the lease is still valid. Please help us by sharing this information with all persons who may have such a lease and are not aware we are conducting this renewal exercise. Please call the parish office to schedule an appointment before coming.

Cake & Bread Sale
We are welcoming
our fellow parishioners in St. Joseph RC Church (and other parishioners from
various parish communities) to come and patronize in our cake and bread sale at
St. Jude's RC Chapel, Mt. D'or on Saturday February 15th before and after the
5PM Mass. This sale is in aid of the Air-Conditioning of our Chapel and we look
forward to your contribution both big and small.

Parish Notices for the 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time
- Tomorrow/Today we are going as a community to a pilgrimage to Siparia Devotions. We will leave from our parish car park at 12.30 pm. The cost of the trip is 60 $ for transportation. Please contact Lynette Taitt for more information (for example if there are any free seats). Her number is also on the C. News stand.
- We are very happy that we have inaugurated a new ministry: Legal Aid and Mediation service. Some of our parishioners practicing law and mediation volunteered their experience and time to help those who need assistance with some legal issues or matters needed mediation. We are very grateful to them. And we would like you encourage you to come and ask for help (if you need one) or share this invitations with those who may need help. Please remember that we already offer the counseling – psychological help. We have only two counselors who are overburdened, so we need more people who would like to serve in this beautiful way. Any contacts, appointments to receive counseling, legal help or mediation may be made through the parish office. For more information talk with the Father.

Chapter of the Polish Dominicans
49 delegates
began a two-week sessions, during which they will wonder about the condition
and task order in Poland and elect a new Provincial.
The Chapter began formally with a Mass in the Basilica of the Holy Trinity in Krakow on Monday in the chair. 9 Mass celebrated prior youngest monastery, Father Peter Ciuba from Katowice, preached the sermon Fr Paul Cossack, prior of the convent of Krakow .
The preacher drew the audience's attention on the biblical story of King David. " Why did the Israelites have chosen him to be king ? " - Asked about Cossack and replied, " Because he was of the same lineage , blood and tradition , and secondly because of the quite humanly he was a good commander , and thirdly because the Spirit of the Lord has anointed him ."
Prior Krakowski also spoke about the three lights on the starting chapter . “That we were able to justify the hope that is in us . Secondly, we aspired to what is above, not fearing the radicalism of the Gospel. And thirdly - we in the midst of the multitude of views sought unity , because internally divided house cannot stand " - cried about Cossack .
But before we began formally chapter, on Sunday evening has been called . Getting Started - delegates authentication . The three oldest brothers proved letter confirming the selection of each of them. Chosen as brothers tellers, those who are counting the votes in all the ballots . Also elected two registry clerk .
Both the chairman of the meeting , Fr Paul Cossack and scrutinizers and protokolanci , took an oath of secrecy.
Today, the agenda of the chapter will primarily report on the four-year term of the outgoing Provincial Superior Fr Krzysztof Poplawski and the debate over the form of governance.
Trivia:
The chapter takes place in the hall on the third floor of the monastery. Therefore requires a pretty good physical condition brothers , especially that on the eve of the meeting broke up elevator , spare parts will be sent in two weeks !
In previous chapters brothers voted by black or white balls thrown into the ballot box . White ball meant consent , black - opposition . (You can of course also abstain from voting ) . The current jury decided the electronic voting system , which will significantly speed up the decision making process .
During this chapter are used wired microphones . Wireless microphones used in the previous chapter four years ago became famous for " stray " - at times , the broadcasting speeches brothers to the sound system of the church , in addition, during the church services .
The chapter takes part 49 brothers. It is so najliczebniejsza chapter in the modern history of the Dominican Polish , and perhaps even the Dominicans in the world!

Condolences
Fr. Odo van de Heijdt, former prior of the Monastery of Our Lady of Exile on Mt. St. Benedict, passed away on Sunday February 2nd after he has been ailing for some time. We wish his family and his brothers in the order of St. Benedict the peace of Christ that they may be guided and comforted through this time of grief.
Additional information concerning the funeral will be released in the days upcoming.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and Perpetual light shine upon him, May he rest in peace. Amen. May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace, Amen.
UPDATE: The funeral of the late Fr. Odo van de Heijdt, OSB will take place on Thursday February 6th at 10AM in the abbey church on Mt. St. Benedict followed by burial at the monastic cemetery.

Parish Notices for the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord
- A reminder to parents! Registration for St. Joseph Girls R.C. School and St. Joseph Boys R.C will take place on Monday 3rd February 2014 at 9 AM. Please check the notice board and the poster on the main door to the church for more information.
