Diabetes Seminar Hosted by the CCSJ

CCSJ invites you to attend either of the following Presentations on:

Diabetes: Prevention and Management
Presenter: Dr Kenwyn Nicholls B.Sc. Hons, MD, MPH

* Saturday 14 July at Church of the Resurrection, La Horquetta, Uriah Butler Street at 2: 00 p.m.

* Saturday 21 July at St. Cecelia's Chapel, Royal Rd., La Seiva at 6:00 p.m.

These Presentations are part of CCSJ’s Wellness Project. We thank Dr Nicholls for sharing his talents freely with our Archdiocese.

God wants us to look after our bodies so that we can help to build His Kingdom of Justice, Peace, Truth, Love, Freedom and Forgiveness. The sanctity of life and the dignity of the human person are key social justice principles. We must constantly seek to realise our dignity. Because we are made in the image and likeness of God and are endowed with inherent, inalienable, and inviolable dignity, we have a duty to sustain the integrity of our own bodies/lives.

If untreated, diabetes can damage the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart and blood vessels. Education is the key to the prevention and management of diabetes. Come and learn more about the different types of diabetes (e.g. Type 1, Type 2, gestational diabetes), prevention and risk reduction strategies, and, for those diagnosed with diabetes, find out more about how to manage your diabetes to prevent short and long term complications related to uncontrolled diabetes.

If you would like CCSJ to organize a similar presentation in your parish, please contact us.

For further information contact Leela Ramdeen, Chair, CCSJ on 299 8945 or Christine Walcott, CCSJ’s Parish Link Coordinator on 299 1587.
