Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross

Today a special feast has superseded our usual Ordinary Time liturgies and it is the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The Cross, which is used as a symbol of salvation, is usually venerated on Good Friday. Today, we are called to look to the cross as a sign of hope. Jesus tells us to pick up our crosses and follow him and even though those 'crosses' may be a bit difficult, we are reminded that there is always victory in the end. May the Grace of our Lord Jesus bless us to persevere in all our trials and tribulations so that we may reach that point of victory.
